Canada's performance at the FIFA under-20 World Cup can best be described as disappointing. Three losses, no goals, and always seemed a step behind. Sunday's 2-0 loss to Congo was particularly disappointing because this was a game that the Canadians could have won. They had 12 or 13 corners, yet were their own worst enemy rocketing shot attempts high and wide or heading the ball helplessly to the other team. We can only hope the next generation learns from this, works on their game and shows up in four years time with a better prepared squad.

Sigma players Kick it Up for GolTV

Several players with the Sigma Sports Solutions elite youth training program were at Sheridan Mall recently in Mississauga to spread the word about their program and to raise awareness of Field of a Million Dreams. GolTV was on hand to talk to the players as part of their advance coverage of the FIFA under-20 World Cup.
The players discussed their recent trip to Holland and spoke about chasing their soccer dreams.

Field of a Million Dreams will be on display at Sheridan Mall's Kick it Up event in support of Canada's under-20 World Cup team this Sat. June 16th. Sheridan Mall is located in Mississauga, Ont. on Erin Mills Parkway, north of the Queen Elizabeth Way.
FOMD supporters are encouraged to come by and participate in the soccer celebration.

Jaime Peters signs three-year contract with Ipswich Town

I was talking to one of the members of the Ipswich Town Fan's Trust who mentioned to FOMD that Jaime Peters, signed on for another three years at Ipswich Town.
That's great news for the pride of Pickering, Ont.
On the Official Ipswich Town web site, Peters came in third place in ITFC's player of the year voting by fans. That's another amazing accomplishment for the 19-year old Canadian.
He'll be front and centre this summer as part of Canada's Under-20 World Cup squad.

There's been an explosion on the site as fans of competing players are driving the hit count sky high.

Chris Pozniak of Toronto FC became the most viewed link on the site on Sunday, May 27, surpassing Owen Hargreaves and Atiba Hutchinson. But there is so much competition, these positions may not last long.

Hargreaves joins Manchester United

Owen Hargreaves has made it official, he will be joining the Red Devils after Bayern Munich agreed to a transfer for the midfielder. Hargreaves, as you know, is a good friend of FOMD, and appears on our site in support of our efforts. We wish him the best.

Hargreaves rumours heat up

According to the BBC, Bayern Munich says it will consider selling our top FOMD supporter, Owen Hargreaves to Manchester United at the end of this season. The deal has been the subject of much speculation over the past year. Our hopes are with Owen for a successful resolution to this situation.

Peters ready to lead Canada at the Under-20 World Cup

Ipswich Town's Jamie Peters is primed and ready to lead Canada at the Under-20 World Cup, the promising player from Pickering, Ont. was a force in recent friendlies against Scotland.
